Datuk Dr Yatimah Binti Sarjiman, 61, was appointed to the Board of Kim Teck Cheong on 20 February 2026 as an Independent Non-Executive Director. She is a member of the Remuneration Committee.

Datuk Dr. Yatimah Sarjiman served the Malaysian public service for 34 years, focusing on public policy, resource management, and regional economic development. Her career included senior administrative roles such as Deputy Secretary-General at the Prime Minister’s Department and Director-General of the Department of Women Development. She also held leadership positions within the Economic Planning Unit, specifically directing the Agriculture Division and the Infrastructure and Utilities Division.

In her most recent role as Deputy Secretary-General (Sectoral) at the Ministry of Economy, she managed the development of the 12th Malaysia Plan Mid-Term Review. Her work also extended to national sustainability initiatives, where she contributed to the National Energy Policy 2022 and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR). These projects support Malaysia’s long-term goal of becoming a low-carbon nation by 2040. Her professional background is further rounded out by experience in international relations, industrial structures, and the plantation industry.

Awards and Accolades

In November 2023, Datuk Dr Yatimah Binti Sarjiman was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Business, Accounting, and Finance from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

TITLE

On 1 February 2023, Datuk Dr Yatimah Binti Sarjiman was awarded the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara, officially conferring her the title “Datuk.”
