Datuk Dexter Lau, 46, joined the Board on 17 October 2014 as a Non-Independent Executive Director. He is the Executive Officer of Kim Teck Cheong Consolidated Berhad (KTC) and has held the position of General Manager and Vice President at the group since 2003.

Datuk Dexter Lau holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom (2001). He completed the Bar Vocational Course at Inns of Court School of Law and was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales in 2002. He subsequently qualified as an Advocate for Sabah and Sarawak upon returning to Malaysia. Datuk Lau is dedicated to ongoing professional development, pursuing further education at Peking University, the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

With extensive experience at KTC, he has excelled in strategic planning and stakeholder relationships. As Executive Director since 2015, he has led KTC to become the first wholesale and distribution company from Sabah to publicly offer shares in Malaysia. Under his leadership, KTC’s annual revenue has reached RM1 billion, a thirtyfold increase over 20 years, contributing significantly to job creation and expanding its presence in various sectors across Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, West Malaysia, and Indonesia.
